Technology has taken a dramatic turn over recent past and laptop manufacturing companies have gone beyond imagination when it comes to build complete notebook full of features. Now laptops are good enough for complete office work load, heavy computing processing power for engineering needs and advance uses, graphical usage or even entertainment purposes. You name your requirements and you will see every brand of laptops meeting those needs. Following are the features which I think we may have never thought would be available in small machine which we can carry any were with us.

1. It is amazing to have LCD sizes to 8 inches to 22 mega size screens. Now wider screens in different sizes are also available in market easily.

2. Weight of the laptops were never thought to be very light, earlier laptops had weight more than 4kgs and now laptops which are standard 14 inches screens are available in lesser than 2Kgs of weight. The bigger the LCD the heavier the machines will be. One can choose smaller size screen for even lesser weight for better mobility.

3. There were times when CDs reading was the only functionality in CD ROM drives and having CD writers where expensive but now laptops comes with DVD reader + DVD writer, which burns audio CDs and DVD also. Now latest laptops are introducing Blue ray feature. Blue ray disc is also known as DB, and its main use is to support high definition videos and data storage. Blue ray disc can support 50 GB of data.

4. LAN or Ethernet was common networking feature in older model laptops and Ethernet cables were use to connect to laptops to any sort of network, but now laptops comes equipped with cutting edge wireless technology known as Wi-Fi, or Wireless LAN. Wireless LAN enable notebook to connect to internet or WLAN wirelessly. This feature enable mobile computing concept in true sense. Bluetooth is also introduced to connect to Bluetooth enable networks or file sharing purpose with Bluetooth enable devices.

5. Security of notebook it self has been introduced by developing finger print reader mechanism on laptop for preventing unauthorized access. This feature has reduced theft of information by preventing access to computer from intruders.

6. Graphical cards which used to hardly support standard window based games are now supporting very heavy, 3D direct X10 supported games. Memory for graphical cards is scorching high which can as high as 1 GB.

7. Improved battery life for laptops has increased usage of laptops world wide. Now laptops can support up to 4 hrs back time which can give enough time to work in field.

8. Webcams comes pre installed in top of the LCD, this enable video conferencing on go without having to plug the cam externally. Build in mice also pre-installed for voice communication.

9. High definition port is now come with new laptops, this port enable to get display on bigger LCD, projectors for presentations. USB ports are now in more quantity which enables more devices to connect to laptop.

10. External memory card slots are also available in latest laptops. This feature enables to read external memory cards from Mobile phones, digital cameras for file sharing purposes.

Laptops have improved; they are available in hundreds of GB data capacity, GB of RAM available for programming and running heavy and advance software, higher screen resolutions for graphical work or picture quality conscious users, higher graphical cards and crystal quality sound and so much more have changed the way we use our notebooks machines now. It will be interesting to know what features are yet discovered and yet to be experienced by the world

Operating system making system slow and no function can be performed smoothly. This kind of problem is very common among most of window users, especially who are using win 2000 and win xp. This problem is not just limited to laptops but it is very common in desktop computers also as same operating systems are required to run both desktops and laptops.

There can be many reasons for running computer slow. There can be virus issues which might have attacked operating system who is using most of the resources of the computer. It does not leave behind much of the memory for the rest of the important processes to run computer smoothly. In this case what is the most recommend step is to scan computer for viruses and malware. Most of us know about viruses but malware or worms are new things which have started attacking more often these days. It should normally be, 1 to 5 % and if it is more than it, either many programs running on your computer simultaneously or there may be malicious activity going on within the computer.

In win XP SVCHOST.EXE, is the most common and active process you would see running into the processes tabs this process is about internet and network connectivity, there are many changes that your system is running slow as this processes is taking lot of memory and putting you computer to its maximum use. We need to monitor it carefully to find exact reason why it may be happening. Scan computer to verify that there is no malicious activity going on due to virus or malwares.

Third party software or services can be the reason for slowing down your computer, if we detect that 3th party service and disable it, system will start running smoothly. Some times when we leave behind open internet explorer windows it slows down the computer too and make SVHHOST.EXE to boost system usage, so it is recommended that if internet explorer is not required keep it closed until browsing the internet is required.

If you have not reset your laptop for over 24 hrs, it is recommended that you restart your notebook to run fresh operating system. It will unload useless processes which are uselessly taking place in laptop memory.

It is always a tough decision to make when it comes to purchase new laptop. There are so many things to look for before taking any final decision. The first thing to look for is your requirements you are looking in new notebook. Most of us make mistakes and make purchase by temptation, we get stuck with machines we do not need, this way we waste money and also machine as we do not put it to its best use.
Before making any purchase we need to carefully consider few points to make it sense able purchase. We should pin point requirements of the nature of work, we need to identify which kind of laptop best suits our requirement and then we compare those requirements with budget. It is not easy to find your best match to your needs and easy on pocket, you always have to some how either pay more for your choice or compromise on below quality laptops. We should review the market and get to know specification of the machines like processing power of the machine, Ram, graphical cards, sound system, wireless capabilities including Wi-Fi (Wireless Lan), Lcd sizes with different display technologies etc. Keeping this information in mind we can decide what is the better and optimum choice for us, if you are advance computing user for software development, engineering graphical designer or editor of media, you will need machine which can deliver power to perform tasks and if it is just required for normal domestic usage then lower price machines is the best choice. Lower price laptops are equipped with all modern features these days. These laptops are good for most of the things one would want to do, can play good music, videos, will have decent display technology with reseanable screen sizes. Graphical card should play most of the games, these laptops should get connected with wireless networks using Wireless lan built into them. Identify your needs and more often or not it should fall in this range and you will get good performer laptop in good price range.
